The parties and the court
The case is ABC IP, LLC v. Beowulf Machine and Defense LLC, No. 1:26-cv-00655 (D. Idaho), filed October 6, 2026 by ABC IP, LLC and Rare Breed Triggers, Inc. The defendants are Beowulf Machine and Defense LLC, which the complaint alleges, on information and belief, is an Idaho limited liability company, and Joseph Dean Doell, who the complaint alleges, on information and belief, is Beowulf's manager and directs its operations, including the accused acts. Venue is pleaded under 28 U.S.C. 1400(b).
Patents and accused products
The complaint asserts U.S. Patents 12,038,247 (issued July 16, 2024), 12,031,784 (July 9, 2024), 12,529,538 (January 20, 2026), 12,578,159 (March 17, 2026), and 12,636,403 (May 26, 2026), one count per patent, and alleges that ABC IP owns the patents by assignment and that Rare Breed is the exclusive licensee. It alleges, on information and belief, that the defendants make and sell components especially made for the Super Safety, namely at least pre-cut triggers, to companies that use or sell the Super Safety in variants that include a partial kit with the cam and cam lever components, knowing the components are especially adapted for infringement and not staple articles. On that basis it pleads contributory and induced infringement.
Relief sought
The plaintiffs ask for judgments of infringement and willfulness, preliminary and permanent injunctions, damages under 35 U.S.C. 284 with enhancement, and attorneys' fees under 35 U.S.C. 285. They demand a jury.
What to watch next
The docket shows pro hac vice motions filed with the complaint. Watch for service, the defendants' response, and any notice of potential tag-along action in MDL No. 3176, the East Texas multidistrict litigation into which other ABC IP and Rare Breed suits on the same five patents, such as No. 4:26-cv-01482 (E.D. Tex.), have been transferred.
