The parties and the court
The case is ContentNexus LLC v. QA Limited, No. 2:26-cv-00891 (E.D. Tex., Marshall Division), filed October 6, 2026. The docket shows it assigned to District Judge Rodney Gilstrap and Magistrate Judge Roy S. Payne. The complaint describes ContentNexus as a New Mexico limited liability company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and QA Limited as a United Kingdom corporation with an established place of business in London. Venue is pleaded under 28 U.S.C. 1391(c) on the ground that QA Limited is a foreign corporation.
The patent
U.S. Patent 8,559,635, titled Signal processing apparatus and methods, issued October 15, 2013. The complaint says the application leading to it was filed May 24, 1995, and that ContentNexus is the assignee of all right, title, and interest.
What the lawsuit alleges
Count 1 alleges that QA Limited directly infringes one or more claims of the '635 patent, literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, by making, using, offering to sell, selling, or importing the products identified in claim charts attached as Exhibit 2, and by having its employees internally test and use those products. It says service of the complaint and charts gives QA Limited actual knowledge of infringement and alleges induced infringement from then on. The exemplary claims and products appear only in Exhibit 2, which is not available.
Relief sought
ContentNexus asks for a judgment that the patent is valid and enforceable and has been infringed directly and indirectly, damages under 35 U.S.C. 284 with interest and costs, an accounting, and a finding that the case is exceptional under 35 U.S.C. 285 with attorneys' fees. It demands a jury.
