The complaint

The case is Onscreen Dynamics, LLC v. BLU Products, Inc., No. 1:26-cv-26624 (S.D. Fla.), a five-page complaint for patent infringement dated and docketed September 22, 2026, ECF No. 1, with a jury demand. The clerk's notice assigns the case to Judge Roy K. Altman (ECF No. 2).

What the patent covers

U.S. Patent 9,395,917, titled Electronic Display With a Virtual Bezel, issued July 19, 2016; the complaint says a certificate of correction issued October 4, 2016. Claim 1 covers a virtual bezel display screen for an electronic device with a virtual bezel area whose touchscreen layer has a first mode of response to a set of touch inputs while displaying part of the content, an active touchscreen region substantially within the bezel area that has a second mode of response to those inputs and displays the rest of the content, and gestural software that produces the first mode, selectively interpreting touches in the bezel area as intentional input affecting the content in the active region. (U.S. Patent 9,395,917 claim 1; Compl. paras. 9 to 14.)

What the lawsuit alleges

Onscreen alleges it owns the '917 Patent by assignment and that BLU, which it alleges, on information and belief, is a Florida corporation with an office in Doral, Florida, directly infringes one or more claims by selling and offering the BLU Bold N4 Smartphone, with an exemplary claim chart attached as Exhibit B. It asks for damages of no less than a reasonable royalty, a permanent injunction, and a judgment that the patent is valid and enforceable. (Compl. paras. 2 to 19; prayer.)
